Headcanon *Forever a WIP*

Since Enil is a minor character in WA4, a lot of her history and quirks are mostly headcanon and what I pick up on via body language and dialogue. But I will list overall headcanon history as well as my own thoughts on certain aspects.

Thanks go to Sara and Ryoko for helping me with the history and everything! I owe you guys big time!

History

Enil started out to have a normal childhood in a small village despite the fact that a war has ravaged her planet at this time for fifty plus years. She had loving parents that adored their child and would do anything for her but spoil her. At an early age, she was taught that working hard would get her further than their small town could and they instilled those ideals in Enil. She loved what all young girls did at the time: stories about princesses and guardians, run outside and play with the farm animals and fellow kids and simply enjoyed childhood. Yep, she had a good life.

That was until she was seven years old.

That was when her Dark Whisper ability revealed itself: the ability to make fears reality, to manifest those deepest, darkest thoughts of someone. It was no illusion: the shadows were real and it scared the girl that they came from her and it wasn’t a dream. Sadly, her parents saw her powers and got caught up in it. The fears Enil saw that night made her even more terrified: both her father and mother had known about these powers and were only nice to her so they would never awaken. In other words: they only saw Enil as a monster, waiting with time until her abilities came through. This is what she saw and she hated it: if her parents were so afraid of her, why couldn’t they just get up and leave?

Well…you know what happens when someone gets powers and they can’t control it from the get go. Her parents ended up going crazy from seeing what scared them the most and killed themselves that very night.

Innocence gone…Enil had her first taste of the darkness and fears deep within people’s hearts and it changed her outlook on life. No matter how kind and caring someone can be, there can always be a darker side, waiting to rear its ugly head. Thus the seeds of unable to trust was planted in the child’s soul. It would be from this day on that Enil could not be able to truly see the goodness inside anyone.

Being a small village, word got around fast and rumors spread like wildfire. Demons or monsters were the best excuses: the most known was that a monster had killed the adults and spirited away the little girl. The rumors were enough to spark the interest of a young military captain of the Congressional Knights, one of the two forces fighting in the current war at this time. He had decided to investigate what happened and traveled to the site. As he looked in the barn, he noticed that something was off…like it was watching him.

There was.

When the captain spotted it, he came to see that it was himself staring back. There was no mirror where he was and it was only a spilt second before the form changed to a scared Enil, peeking from one of the barn doors.

"Are you here to kill me?"

The captain was taken back at her statement, curious to see why a child of her age would ask such a question.

"Mommy and Daddy...they said I was a monster."

This child spoke with no love in her voice but a somewhat dead tone and it tugged at the military man for an odd reason. He could see how scared she was…and that strange ability he had just witnessed…

"No, you are not a monster. Certain people are born with gifts that can help shape the world and help it come to fruition: I believe you’re one of them, child."

And with that, he offered his hand to Enil, promising her a better life, one where she wouldn’t be feared for her new found talents. The child would not be sent to a laboratory but raised as the captain’s own daughter, even taking his last name of ‘Aidem’.

Over the years, the small and frightened girl grew up into a beautiful woman, taking in knowledge of mechanics and equations rather than fairy tales and holding herself up to be the daughter of a known military officer: charm school, etiquette lessons, and tutors were her normal routine. But there were one thing she had learned but never used: being polite in certain matters: she had always stated the truth rather bluntly, not wanting to hide behind lies. While it did get her into trouble, her father admired her for that quality.

During this time, she had never forgotten her abilities and found a way to try and control them: using the same techniques from her etiquette lessons, Enil had learned how to keep them in check by focusing on keeping her own feelings in line. Hide everything behind a mask and gain the upper hand. It was because of this that her father suggested going into the service when she turned eighteen: to better use her gifts for Filgaia’s future and to bring government to the people. And so she enrolled in the military academy where she earned a degree in engineering. Not too long after that, Enil volunteered to join in the war front, offering two sets of services: her mechanical expertise on weapons and transportation and one more…low-key one should say.

In other words, Enil did some missions where she had to use both her shape shifting ability and her fear-inducer in which she herself dubbed ‘Dark Whisper’. Playing spy for the Congressional Knights did have perks.

But the war ended not too long after she enlisted, but there was someone interested in her special gifts and saw the potential to bring upon greatness into Filgaia: his name was Captain Lambda Zellweger and his mission was to reform an elite group of soldiers into the planet’s best defense: Brionac. 11 beings with enough power of a battalion in each…they were the best of the best and unstoppable.

That is until a group of teenagers decided to get in their way….

Q & A

What's Enil's thoughts on scientist-types?

It all depends on the field they're in. Since she is also an engineer, if they handle machines and anything mechnical, then they would be ok with her. If they deal with altering bodies and human stuff in general, most likely she won't like them. My thoughts are that her adoptive father was approached by some asking how her powers worked and he simply didn't want to stick her on some lab table to find out what made her tick. In his mind, Captain Aidem sees the scared girl hiding in her family's barn. So cue heated argument and the phase 'for Filgaia's future' thrown around and it pissed him off. Enil being most likely a kid age (between 7-9 years old) hears this and kind of assumes that those types are bad.

So did something happen that made people find out about the Dark Whisper?

I assume that after she was found, Enil was taken to a medical doctor for a check up and she got rather scared. Therefore, it flared up and got some people in the scientific branch of the Congressional Knights paying attention.

Are her powers common?

The shapeshifting yes. Dark Whisper I think no. While Brionac has people that have one special ability (minus one but he's freaking smart so that counts), making your worst fears real (and I mean REAL, NOT ILLUSIONS) counts as one of those rare gems.

Is there anyone Enil likes?

Her father. Even though she has a grim look on life and people in general, there is one person that has some of her trust and it's him.

What the hell is all this crap about 'Filgaia's future'?

For those interacting with Enil or Kresnik (Caligo-verse or Discedo-verse mostly), you'll hear this at least once. Filgaia is their home planet and to put it lightly, it's a shithole. Wasteland if you want to get technical. This is because of a war that had been going on for 78 years and pretty much destroyed a good portion of the plant life. In WA4, the Congressional Knights do have a plan using Kresnik's sister Yulie as a way to restore the world. But it would've ended up making her have a lobotomy and a bunch of other crazy shit. Personally, they're worse than Pedobear and the fact that they also call her 'Holy Mother' freaks me out.

So she fought in the war?

Yes, she did both spying missions as well as helped with weapons and other transportation machinery. During some of the missions when she was out in the field, her team did get caught in the crossfire. In one memory, Enil is actually holding a dying soldier in her arms.

Is she proud of serving in such a time?

Most likely, she would say it to higher officers. Otherwise, due to her outlook, I would say no. War to her is pointless and just something she thinks that humans just like in order to feed their inner dark side.

Does she get along with the other Brionac officers?

For the most part. They're her co-workers, nothing more. She doesn't hate them with maybe the exception of Jeremy since he's a little brat. It's mostly because she didn't bother to really get to know them other than the basics and what she needed to know.

So she's a military woman...

Yes and she's also a woman. I see her as a cultured and classy type except more blunt. Just how she holds herself screams this. Not to mention the earrings she wears constantly.

Any special significance of said earrings?

A graduation present from Captain Aidem.

Is she ever happy?

If you spot her alone maybe. She won't suddenly become sunshine and rainbows but she does have that capability. She also can cry too but it might take something very upsetting to do it(dying soldier for example.)

What kind of engineering did Enil study?

Since military academy, I can say safely that her specialty is in the mechanical area. Since I stated that she has helped with weapons and transportation matters during the war, it's safe to say this is what she knows. More info on the field is here.

Does she have any quirks?

Not when it comes to speaking. She seems to be a cultured and elegant woman when needed. However, due to her bluntness... it's hard to explain. If you ever saw that scene in MLP:FiM when Fluttershy tells Discord that she is all those things he says in order to rile her up, that would be a bit like something Enil would do. Except she is more aware of it depending on the situation. It's not trolling, more like 'fighting for her conviction'.

Conviction?

It's a joke within the fandom. Hard to explain. At least hard for me to.

Has Enil ever been in love?

Not in love, but she did have ~feelings~ for someone during the war. In Discedo, while she didn't say it, when the memory event was going on, one of her memories that was shown was her holding a dying soldier in her arms. My thought is that after his death, that's when Enil had learned that she did have those type of feelings.

Does she have any nicknames?

Besides her codename 'Dark Whisper'?

Midget.

Reasoning is that out of the official Brionac officers, Enil is the shortest at around 5'6. Tallest guy is a little over 8 feet. Yeah, the name irks her. Jeremy is the one most likely to use it to annoy her.
